Anti-US sentiment aside, I agree with Johann_P.

dumbass, Stalin isn't a personification of Soviet Communism. This imagery is simply about the workers revolting against the Capitalist Scum in the name of Mozilla!

All hail Mozilla!

*ahem* Anyway, what do you guys find so disagreeable about communism? I'm not a communist by any means, but I'm struggling to understand the irrational belief that communism is somehow inherently evil. It's just a form of government based around pure equality, so what's tickling you so?

You know, people love to say "Communism isnt so bad afterall"... Have you read the Communist Manifesto? Although, it's a lengthy yet vague ramble, read the part about the implied dismantling of families in the modern sense and the part where "anyone who isnt a communist is an enemy, therefore we can do whatever we want to them" (parapharse of course)...

Equality of those who go along with communism. The petty middle class is just as evil according to Marx as say an manipulative noble. Communism is equality for some, which is really not equality at all.

Now why can't Mozilla.org just remove the one pic that yui mentioned? I think that if the whole world viewed this one pic it would be seen with much distaste. Some people think that if the press got a hold of this information it would be beneficial and positive PR. I doubt it. Rather, the press would insinuate that mozilla.org is tied to communistic philosophy. Then the public would have a choice. Use IE from a illegal monopoly or use Mozilla from a communistic organization. Which one would you choose if you thought that way? It is easy to remove one graphic. It is hard to remove a tattered reputation. Mozilla.org has to make the choice. Will they just laugh it off and keep the pic or will they seriously consider taking it down?

By the way, it may be against copyright because of the dragon.

This is getting so boring. There are about 2 billion things I worry about more than a little image hidden on a web server that may be assiciated with communist images by a few over-sensitive leftovers from the mc carthy era or the cold war. You guys should use your energy to get US soldiers and certain US companies that dominate 95% or the market out of our sight first. 95% market dominance is something that some of the old communist cooperatives would have been proud of.
And by the way - I'll prefer that naive, ugly, but provocative artwork to professional images of beautiful smiling people any time, thank you.

Capitalism strives for the same goal of communism: monopoly. Communism and capitalism for what they are worth are all to similar. It's no wonder the remake of monopoly in communist countries was the same as the original. icon_wink.gif

Oh yeah, and since I'm not a hold over from the McCarthy era (not even American), you get an award: http://www.dumbass.com/award.jpg

Who's for sending an e-mail with this link on it to, say, The New York Times, CNET/ZDNET, Slashdot or maybe even the big boys at PC World?

Everyone is fine with having it up there so why not tell the world about it?

I am not going to do it, because I am a respectable person, but someone reading this might do just that.

Mozilla.org, do you still want it up on your site icon_question.gif

Oh man PC World...don't sic them on us!

Well...not "everyone", evidently, or you wouldn't be posting this.

Because they likely have more important (logical?) things to worry about?

Yikes wrote:

But you'll INCITE them to do it, right? because THAT'S respectable?

Yikes wrote:

Maybe they will. We'll just have to weather the firestorm of media controversy that arises, the best we can. I personally take some small level of comfort in the knowledge we'll all (at least) have each other to get us through the times of trouble.

Time will tell, while everyone here waits in rapt suspense.

Well, maybe not EVERYONE. icon_wink.gif

Mozilla.org fortunatly does not have the problem of having to talk to the press. If the day comes, it will be funny to see links to my site blow their non-political agenda wide apart.

Oh yeah the new name means that I've been blocked for the 3 rd time now? I am grateful to say that censorship is only used under ANY cirumstance when there is fear about the banned material.

its not "censorship".. if you would administrate a forum you would act the same way and wouldnt allow some bored kids to drag your board through the mud.

and by registering, you agree to their terms:
Quote:
You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit.

so, stop whining.

Other servers have them. Usenet messages are extremely hard to delete. Though it's quite illegal to delete messages off of public usenet groups, I am grateful that someone fears me enough to take them off.

Freedom of speech includes anything that you might think is waste. Freedom of speech is objectively almost everything, not subjectively everything you agree with. You know, it's that pesky Bill of Rights thing. It's funny how many in this group are completely upset over Ashcroft and Bush's increased curbing of rights and yet when it comes to a small case so close to home, you are ALL hypocrites who make Ashcroft look like he signed the Bill of Rights. A bunch of liberal phonies for that most part who talk big but act completely opposite.

Your childish behavior makes you all look like bumbling fools. Yeah, I mean dumbass.com thing.
