Mozilla: The Imagery

(This article is outdated. I may/may not agree with some/all of it. Regardless, don't bother arguing with me about it. Please read the new one: Mozilla the Marketing Nightmare).

Let's play a game of "Guess Which is the Mozilla Logo!". Is the logo reminiscient of the Mozilla's main money-giver, AOL? Does Mozilla reek of corporate profits above community goals? Does Mozilla like to look cool by dressing in the clothes of a system that killed one hundred million people? No, nazism "only" killed at most ten million... Not to belittle the evil deeds of nazis, perhaps this should put some perspective into the disgusting communist "artwork" of Mozilla.org. If you are tired of playing this grim game, may I recommend the Andkon Online Arcade?

Communism and Mozilla

There was a time when people said that Mozilla's artwork isn't communist and that anyone who thought so was reading too much into it. The time now has now passed. A real communist, one who claims Stalin as an idol, has created Mozilla artwork (and some interesting comments) that are unmistakably communist (even more so than the actual images): http://mithgol.pp.ru/Mozilla/.

Since the site is often down, I have taken the liberty of moving the two questionable images from that site to my site. (It's open source afterall, right?) The two images created by yours truly Mithgol are the USSR emblem and the Stalin picture.

Exhibit A:

If you are blind and still refuse to believe your eyes, have someone read you "...just trust me: Mozilla is as Communist as Stalin." Coming from someone who thinks Stalin was a great leader, that really scares me.

Exhibit B & C:

Mithgol, the creator of the Stalin image below says:"The splash is a sign of my true gratitude: notwithstanding that the great Leader is dead." Great leader?? I seem to remember that Stalin starved and executed millions of people, just like some other 20th century villain...

Exhibit D & E:

The next two pictures were made by me in 2002 way before Mithgol made his commerative Stalin splash. People back then told me I was reading too much into it. Really? A true communist has shown us otherwise.

Mozillazine.org censors discussion on communism & deletes all messages from andkon.com

Oh, what is the world coming to? After coming across a not so nice message at Mozillazine.org that suggests Mozilla.org should sue Andkon, I felt a need to respond and explain myself, instead of being slandered as usual. However, the forum moderators at Mozillazine.org did not like my explanations and views, so they deleted my account. New accounts created by me to fully explain myself, were likewise deleted. In fact, they censored me so much that they banned me (and thousands of people who use the same server that I use) from even viewing the site and replaced "andkon" with the period ("."). That's why the quote actually should say "I seriously think mozilla.org should sue andkon." Of course, replacing "andkon" with "." is much better than replacing all instances of "andkon" with "dumbass" as had been done to me by Mozillazine.org earlier.

I call this open source with closed views. I find it hard to believe that an open source organization is allowed to stifle the defense of views in such a blatant way. Of course other AOL cohorts like to censor me on the public Usenet. A summary shall explain how my messages are nuked from a place that is supposed to be open to all.

All I did was try to explain myself. I didn't go to Mozillazine.org to stir up trouble. Things that are untrue were said about and I had to respond. So Mozillazine.org, you get a fun banner to display on your site:

Update! Mozillazine.org now has not only blocked me from their servers but deleted every single one of my messages. No need to panic. There is record of their previous censorships as I had the foresight to know they would delete my messages. All my Mozillazine.org posts have been saved: http://www.andkon.com/stuf/mozillazine/
