The better question is why I am wasting my time? It's doubtful anyone in this group will even try to realize what I am saying. I am sorry if I hurt your vulnerable feelings, it's a joke, and if it makes you feel better, get inside your big Macho box.

I don't think it's fundamentally fair that you get to waste your money on completely artificial trends. Yes, how dare I tell you what to do with your hard earned money. How dare you waste money when people who work literally don't have enough to eat? Once again, I do suggest picking up some leftist proganda by the name of Nickel and Dimed. If you consider your “article” as humorous, then you truly are sick. Let me rephrase my post “wow this kid is sick in my opinion”. Now some advice; if you continue to go through life writing articles such as this you will find that some people will not see the humor. Some of these people will not be the nice, fun loving, “fairly” normal Hummer owner’s that you find here. These people are the type that will track you down and beat the living crap out of you. Now that’s never happened to me personally but I would assume that it’s not very humorous. On the plus side if that fate were to befall you, it might be enlightening and bring you back to reality.

When you say that it’s not fair that a trash picker can’t live and a CEO can, you remind me of my kids. The answer I give them when they start the “It’s not fair” game is “because it is”. Sometimes I do try to explain why, but like you they are children and don’t get it. In this country the majority’s answer to your statement is about the same. Deal with it!

I'm sick? Someone who actively works isn't worth to feed him? That's sick now. "Unfair because it is."? So let me guess, instead of wondering about how much artificial "hype/frenzy" dollars extra you paid for your Hummer, you just don't care. Unlike in communism, where everyone is assumed working and assumed getting a salary, I only would give money to those who work. How is this not practical and how is this not fair?

Once again, is it fair that millions who work 12 hours a day and yet do not have enough money for adequate housing and food??

One more thing, I don't get all this violence. I write words and you suggest that people might want to beat the shit out of me? That sounds barbaric to me, perhaps my implied topic of inferiority is somewhat true?

That's the sick thing, when you are stupid enough to beat someone up over a few silly words. Makes the person seem like a tyrant imposing his muscles over a brain. There is something called the 1st Amendment to some document.

My point was that some people don’t like to be referred to in the way you describe the average Hummer owner. When I read the article I don’t see much humor. I did not get your jokes. Maybe I am not as smart as you? My advice still stands, and I believe that if you continue with such “silly words” in the future someone will eventually be violent towards you, 1st amendment or not.

Andkon,

By what means do you support yourself? Do you have a job? Who puts a roof over your head? Who puts the food on your table? Do you provide for your family?

These people do all of this. When you reach the real world let me know. I'll listen to your opinion and attempts at humor at that point.

Here's a great counterexample: I don't have to eat crap to know that it's harmful to me. I don't have to have a family supporting job to know that MILLIONS of people are working yet don't have enough to eat, a place to sleep, etc. But let me ask you this: Why is it that a high school student has a Hummer at my school? Does he have a job? I certainly would like some inside tips on getting a 6 figure income before I go to college.... Getting no C's on your report card or whatever the case doesnt sound like a job to me.

I guess those bastards who work and cant support themselves can just "live with it" "because it is."

Some have remarked that ability to gain things motivates to work. What MOTIVATES those people, who realize that working 12 hours a day isnt feeding the family?

Anybody stupid enough to fight over silly words or "silly words", proves the implied inferiority. Sure I get beaten up, but guess what, I'll be absolutely correct!

People who work and don't have enough to live on is a myth.

I'm going through this with my less than responsible brother in law right now.

He works and yet he can't afford to live in Dallas. There is a big difference. So we tell him to move back to McAllen where he can afford to live. But he doesn't want to. So cry me a friggin river.

I'd go into more details, but I'm too lazy to type.

And FYI. I'm 27, I own a Hummer, and my parents combined income is 38k per year. And I'm FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR from a millionare.

Unfortunately you missed my point. However, I'm not surprised.

I wouldn't respect your fellow student's opinion any more than I do yours.

Get an education and a job. Then we'll talk. We'll see if you still believe the "let's redistribute the wealth" propaganda you spew.

Please read Nickel and Dimed. It's truly amazing how in the then prosperous economy a woman who claimed to have 3 years of college education got stuck with $6 an hour jobs. It's a really good book.

I'd hate to be rude, but what's your own income? Perhaps you just want to own a Hummer to look richer, better etc? I certainly have heard of people living in their luxury cars. They don't have enough money for houses but feel for some reason so attached to their cars that they don't buy a more reasonably priced car.

I'd like to call it "let's feed those who have a job" program. While it doesnt seem "fair", I think a solution to malnutrition comes over tax cuts. I don't have a problem with giving tax money to those who earned it, by working. After all, the trash does have to be picked up everyday and the shit cleaned from the sewage treatment plants.

Appearantly more than a majority of Americans agree with me on this: Gore seemed to manage a few more votes overall than Bush last time around. Oh well.

You can live on minimum wage. Maybe not in NYC, or LA, or some other places with high costs of living, but it can be done.

And I'd be more than happy to email you my income if it's of interest to you.

I probably fit into the Middle Class category. And I worked to get where I am. I joined the Marine Corps because I couldn't afford college. I studied computers, and took the MCSE, MCDBA, and CCNA certifications courses to help me build my career. I didn't piggy back on anyone.

What a disillusioned person you are! Middle class, why everyone is in the middle class! When a politician dares to raise a stint, he is playing the class card. Now how is it that in capitalist America, there is the Middle Class and pretty much it? As a result of this artificially broadened middle class, which extends from $25,000-$200,000+, even the lower middle class sticks up for the higher up people because of this odd fraternity. This is why someone who has say thousands of debt, can't afford college, sticks up for the upper rungs on the class ladder. The group feels collective threathened when in fact, it's not a single class.

FYI: My household income is below $200,000 a year.

When you go out and become a working class citizen, and stop living off of momma's tit, then you can have an opinion.

Concerning min. wage:

It cannot be done. Let's see very simply:

$5.35 * 12 hours per day * 25 days per month=

$1605.

How much of that goes to taxes, I can't tell. However, let's count expenses now.

A single mother with 2 kids.
$20 per day on food for the entire family, that's $6.20 per person, certainly not anything luxurious, cant even buy a pizza: $600.
Housing: ?$500?.
Transportation. ?$50, just counting gas?,

etc...

Now how anyone can live off of min wage is a mystery to me.

Sorry bud. I know it's nice to discard me now, but the fun questions are just now being asked... I do like being called an h2 veteran though.

Daer Master Konya,

You are apparently an immature young man who has discovered that he can incite others by making outrageously hateful remarks and then excusing such inexcuseable behavior by claiming it was just a joke. Humor? Your comments are not humorous in any way. Hate speech is hate speech. To try to avoid responsibility for such transgressions is merely cowardice. Perhaps you are "IGNORATE"? I don't know you, I don't know how ignorant you are and quite frankly I don't care. Ignorance, if that is your problem, is not an excuse for posting your "funny" comments.

Konya False Assumption #11: QUOTE: "It's sad that you can distinguish reality from a joke."

You, my boy, are the joke. Maybe when you acquire some additional verbal and literary skills you may actually be able to join in meaningful debates and discuss matters of importance. However, your "humor" is simply offensive diatribe and invective most likely expressed in an effort to gain attention and bolster your own low self-esteem. That you would be so presumptuous as to accuse me of not being able to distinguish reality from a joke is almost "funny". It does not, in fact, even deserve a reply...

You seem to believe that you know so much more than the poor fools you have to suffer. I would suggest that what you know is just enough to be dangerous. As most adolescent children develop, they discover that there is indeed an entire world out there for them to explore and learn about. Some, like yourself, after learning extremely limited lessons of life --- suddenly believe that they have all the answers. They know everything. Those stupid adults don't have a clue... Remarkably, most of these juveniles, when they mature, are later embarrassed when they realize just how ridiculously and immaturely they behaved.

You see, your quick wit and acerbic remarks are NOT terribly impressive. Many, many other precocious children have done the same types of immature things which you are trying to do... If you were half as intelligent as you fancy yourself, you would realize that you have made a complete fool of yourself however, and quietly slink off into a corner until you finish growing up. Somehow, I would be surprised if you demonstrate such reserve. This is for you, perhaps, your fifteen minutes of fame. Unless you turn out to be one of those young angry kids who takes a gun to school to REALLY get attention...

Konya Lesson #1: Silence is a virtue.

Miserable? Yes in my opinion you are indeed miserable... After being "invited" to live in this country, your way of showing your gratitude is to attack those you know nothing about for offenses which you have invented. I believe the term: "ungrateful wretch" is fitting? In your youthful angst, I suppose that you would go to a dinner as an invited guest and then critically condemn the quality of the food, or more likely criticise the host for wasting so much money on the dinner when the money could have been better spent feeding the world's poor? You are definitely lacking in some very important social skills. Nor, can you later apologise to your gracious host by claiming that you were only trying to be funny...

Instead of wasting your time (and other's time) in internet games of debate and discussion, you might be much better served to seek counseling. Until then, please follow the old adage about children "being seen and not heard".
