Jury Duty: Excitement

Jul 13, 2006 @ 20:19

So yesterday I had to show up at a courtroom for jury duty. I arrived almost at 8AM and there were lots of repetitive instructions. They let one group of about 20 (out of 400 total) into a courtroom and then told the rest of us to that we could walk about until further notice. They then turned all the TV monitors to Fox News for the next three hours. Anyways, I put my face on my lap and apparently slept through most of that hell when they released us at 11AM citing lack of trials needing juries.

It really felt like I was doozing on and off and not that I slept for so long. Anyways I got to ride on Metro Rail which was probably the most exciting thing I've done this summer.

You know, I never understood how people could actually be hit by those trains... Cars I can see because they might be stuck and traffic and unable to move... but people? Come on. That almost qualifies as too stupid to live... its like darwinism.

Well they can't all be O.J. Simpson trials.
