Hitler and Che Unite in Andkon's 'Chetler'
Apr 30, 2005 @ 00:03I'm really tired of seeing people with those damn annoying Che shirts. No, you're not a revolutionary by buying an overpriced novelty item of Che Guevara who for better or worse represents the poor, the same people who probably made the T-shirt in a crowded sweatshop. In reality though, Che was a murderous revolutionary not any different from the murderous tyrants he opposed. So in honor of people's idiocies, I present to you my original design, on Hitler's 60th "I Can't Take It Anymore, OMG the Soviets are in Town, What the Fuck Do I Do, Oh Lookie Here's A Gun" Day.

I even setup a CafePress shop to sell the tshirt in my own drive towards material wealth, but the nice people there said that my design "may infringe the rights of a third party." I'm not sure anyone owes Hitler's rights or that anyone would care if Hitler's posthumorous rights are being violated. (Also, not only is parody a protected form of expression but the photographer of the original Che image has released it for unrestricted usage.) They also said it might infringe upon the "rights of a celebrity." Does that mean I can't make a shirt with my face on it?
At any rate, after sending CafePress an email complaining about all this, they still refused to let me sell, stating that the image "may glamorize Hitler." As I've stated before exactly a year ago, the only thing that glamorizes Hitler is banning him. In fact, banning something automatically increases the very notoriety it's meant to extinguish. For example, my arcade (which shall be renamed Nazi Arcade), after the massive bans of yesteryear, became actually more visited and more popular. In conclusion, the man with the most copyright protection is Adolf Hitler and the next mass murderer will be motivated by this very extended copyright perk.
A large desktop wallpaper version of "Chetler" is available. Hint: this is the part where you go to someone else's computer the change their wallpaper and laugh at them.
